My road trip cowboy romance On the Trail of Love will be released soon.

This has been a huge departure from the Christian historical fiction I usually write. The story revolves around a young woman who inherits a mechanical bull business, and it begins in Paducah, KY, where I now live.

The story turned out to have Christian themes, but it’s not “Christian” enough for Christian publishers, and the secular publishers thought it wasn’t “sexy” enough!

So I decided to self-publish.

For some years now I have collected southern aphorisms and this story is my love letter to the South that’s been my home for some years now.

I’ve been working with Kristen Ingebretson, who has designed covers for Chip & Joanna Gaines and Max Lucado, among others. And she does a fantastic job.

I have spent hours looking through thousands of stock images to find my main character, Henry Blake. And I mean, literally, thousands. Here it is! What do y’all think?
