Getting Ready to Publish My New Cowboy Romance On the Trail of Love!
Cowboy Romance Hero Henry BlakeTotally different from my historical novels and novellas, my first contemporary cowboy romance tells the story of a girl who inherits a mechanical bull business. At her grandfather’s dying request she takes the bull, named Bill, out on the rodeo circuit one last time.
Here’s the blurb:
A grieving young woman with shattered dreams. An ex-convict with a heart of gold. And a former Marine who impacts both their lives.
My main character, Sadie O’Toole, also inherits her grandfather’s vintage 1959 Chevrolet Apache pickup, used to pull Bill’s trailer.
I had so much fun researching and choosing this truck to use in this cowboy romance story. I spoke with the family of a man who still owns the vintage Apache I used for my model. You can read his story here.
I’ve decided to self-publish because the story falls into the middle between sweet and sexy.
My agent submitted it to multiple publishers and I received some great feedback, but ultimately it’s too sweet for the average “sexy” cowboy romance, and because there is one scene where my characters sleep together, it’s not “clean” enough for the sweet cowboy romance category!
I’m looking for readers who’d be willing to read the story before its published and join the book launch team.
There will be all sorts of freebies and behind-the-scenes looks at what goes into publishing a book if you join the team!
If this story this piques your interest, or you’d like to learn more about being on a book launch team, contact me at reneeyancy@reneeyancy.com.
Have a wonderful day!
Renee, just finished “On The Trail of Love”! As a Southern RN, I have to say I enjoyed reading this. The colloquialisms were totally natural and enjoyable. I’ve read other authors who seemed to force the inclusion of such. The characters were flawed and real and drew me in. The story was rich and warm and I appreciated the details you included in the confrontation scene. (No spoilers!) I laughed when reading about Max and Bill and wish I could see that! A lovely, lazy morning read. Thank you!
Carrie, thank you! I’m so glad you liked the story. Especially since you’re from the South and I’m not. But Paducah, KY, has been my adopted home for quite a while now, and I have greatly enjoyed living here.
